SP/FS BONUS: Thanksgiving with Aunt Deb

SP/FS BONUS: Thanksgiving with Aunt Deb

Join us at the Thanksgiving table when Aunt Deb brings both her green jello mold (the celery is a must) and, of course, her dubious questions. Over four hearty courses, she has four barbed questions--for former USAID veteran Steve Callahan, returned Peace Corps volunteers Evelyn LaTorre and Sarah Quinn, and Foreign Service Officer Jon Cebra. Their responses (and some pumpkin pie) provide the perfect dessert. Please scroll down to see photos and book links.

Stephen Callahan served more than three decades with USAID and is a member of USAID's Senior Foreign Service. He was also a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines and later had several assignments with the US Department of State. Check out his Spotify playlist "The Revolution is Coming" HERE. His oral history is archived within the Foreign Affairs Oral History Program of the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training (ADST); you can find it under his name HERE.

Sarah Quinn is the Director of the Dean Rusk International Law Center. From 2011-2014, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco.

Jon Cebra is a US Foreign Service Officer. At the time of this interview, he was serving in Kenya, but his work as a diplomat has taken him all over the world, including assignments in Poland, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Cote d'Ivoire, Pakistan, Iraq, and the ultimate hardship post, Washington, DC.

Evelyn LaTorre is an author and a retired educational administrator. She was a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru from 1964-1966. She is the author of two memoirs: Between Inca Walls and Love in any Language: A Memoir of a Cross-Cultural Marriage. To learn more, visit her website HERE.
